Dr. Solange Charas, Human Capital Expert

Solange Charas, Ph.D. is CEO of Charas Consulting, providing advisory services to boards and C-suite executives, optimizing return on human capital investment from individuals, teams, and organization-wide programs. She is a recognized expert in HR Analytics, specializing in M&A transactions. She serves on the boards of Able Energy (NASDAQ) and Integral Board Group where she is their CHRO. Solange is an Adjunct Professor in the Masters program at NYU.

Solange has deep experience in all areas of HR, specializing in human capital metrics, using proprietary evidence-based tools. These analytical approaches allow organizations to improve corporate leadership effectiveness, employee productivity, and M&A success. She has participated in more than 50 M&A transactions. Dr. Charas Ph.D. research focused on innovative approaches to select, develop and manage passionate high-performing interdisciplinary teams at the Board and C-suite level, and resulted in quantifying executive team impact on corporate financial performance. She is a certified Team Coach.

Prior to receiving her Ph.D., Solange was the CHRO at Praetorian Financial Services Group (acquired by QBE), the SVP HR at Benfield (acquired by Aon), and the CHRO at EuroRSCG, the largest division of Havas Advertising, and in her client-serving endeavors, held various senior level positions at Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, Towers Watson and GE Capital, providing board and C-suite advisory services.

Dr. Charas has a BA from UC Berkeley, an MBA from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Management from Case Western Reserve University. She has been published in various professional and academic venues including Harvard Business Review, The Conference Boards Director Notes, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Corporate Board Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Chief Executive Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, FastCompany, and the International Journal of Disclosure and Governance. She has appeared on various business media, including Bloomberg for Small Business, NACD Board Vision and CNN iReport.
